안녕하세요.  KPA가족 여러분,

시각장애인이 이해할 수 있도록 유투브 동영상에 나레이션을 추가하는 작업에 동참하고 싶은 책임감 있는 고등학생 봉사자를 모집합니다.

유투브가 중요한 정보의 보고가 되어가면서 동영상을 시각장 애인이 이해하기 쉽도록 나레이션을 추가하는 일은 시각장애인들의 삶과 교육에 크나큰 도움이 됩니다.

 ‘YouDescribe’ is a project founded by Smith-Kettlewell Video Description Research and Development Center (VDRDC) with a view to enable and encourage sighted volunteers to describe online videos for the benefit of the blind and visually impaired. ‘YouDescribe’ (www.youdescribe.org) enables playback and recording of audio clips for YouTube videos. It follows a crowdsourcing model where any sighted volunteer can record and upload audio descriptions for YouTube videos upon request. These audio annotated videos can be shared across the internet thus making them accessible to all (especially for blind users).

Benefits of describing videos are (1) you are "really" helping someone who need good descriptions on the visuals on Youtube videos. Blind people need to watch videos for many reasons and enhanced video with good narration enables them to understand the contents properly. (2) The process of watching the video with intention to create narration for the blind is very educational and improve your writing and communication skills. (3) You can earn community service hours and appreciation letter from SmithKettlewell Eye Research Institute.

Qualification - 8th ~ 12th who can serve responsibly

First Meeting* - September 29th at 7pm (selected people will be notified via email no later than Sep 25th)

*The first meeting (September 29th at 7pm) is a mandatory meeting for those who received an email invitation. You will be disqualified if absent even if you submitted an essay earlier.
